Solidarity Cement Tile Design Competition
Inspired by traditional cement tile patterns, this design explores the possibilities of a single playful module. By placing and rotating the same shape in different ways, a variety of patterns and compositions emerge from one simple element.
The Module
The module is built on a regular grid, establishing a sense of order and repetition. An off-centre element disrupts this structure, reaching beyond its boundaries and creating connections with the surrounding forms.
Colour & Contrast
Working within the provided colour palette, I chose strong contrasts to create a bold and playful visual identity for the pattern.
